The Australian National University Boat Club was formed in 1964 and is the Australian Capital Territory’s oldest rowing club. It is one of the most successful sporting clubs at the University, and has won ANU Club of the Year for the last 8 years.

The Club’s home is the ANU boathouse located on Sullivan’s Creek, inside the University campus and 200 metres upstream from Lake Burley Griffin.

Our primary purpose is to foster rowing for the benefit of the University and broader community and we cater to all standards of rower from beginner to elite. The Club is ideal for those who would like to further their rowing career, for those who want to participate in University Games and local regattas, or those who are keen to try something new.

The ANU Boat Club has a proud history of competition, having produced national champions and representatives, as well as champions in intervarsity and interstate competition. Key events on the Club’s calendar include the Australian University Games, Disher Cup, Head of the Yarra, National Championships, and ACT and NSW Championships.

We welcome new members at all levels of ability, from novice through to elite. You do not have to be an ANU student to be a member of ANU Boat Club.

ANUBC runs an Introduction to Rowing program each year. For details go to our Introduction to Rowing page.
